Q: How do I know that I am dealing with a legitimate credit repair company? I’ve heard that all credit repair companies are scams.
A: Yes be careful, there are several scams to be aware of. Verify that the company has an actual physical business address, if they are an internet only company or if the person is working out of their home, then it is probably a scam. Legitimate credit repair companies will be registered/licensed by the state where their home office is located. We are registered with the state of Texas. Double G is also a bonded company. Also be very cautious of the month to month pay-as-you-go plans. While these plans are very attractive at first, most companies will stretch out the repair program for over a year, costing hundreds of more dollars in the long run, costing more than our one-time fee.
Q: How much does the credit repair program cost and how long do you work on my credit repair?
A: The fees will vary depending on the amount of work that needs to be done. All of our fees are for a six month contract. The fees are $450 for individuals and $750 for couples. Note there are not any set-up fees or additional fees with the six-month program.
Q: How long does it take for the credit repair?
A: You will start seeing results in 4 to 5 weeks. Your results will vary depending on what types of issues are being addressed. But the simple answer is anywhere from 5 weeks to six-months.
Q: How does credit repair work?
A: Basically we work on your behalf to find the laws and regulations that the creditors are not following. Whether or not the debt is yours, any erroneous information must be deleted.
Q: Will deleted information re-appear on my credit reports?
A: While it is very, very unlikely, yes it can. If any item that was deleted re-appears we will re-work that issue at no charge to you.
Q: Can I expect to have perfect credit at the end of the process?
A: No, sometimes not everything can be cleaned-up or corrected. Credit repair takes time, it didn’t happen overnight so it probably will not be fixed overnight. Some things can only be fixed or healed with time.
Q: So what can I expect at the end of the process?
A: Most of our clients experience on average 85% to 95% removal of negative items being reported. But you should expect a minimal 50% improvement.
Q: Is there a money back guarantee?
A: Unfortunately, due to the laws, we cannot give you a specific % of removal or a point increase. But we will refund your fees if we do not improve your credit report at the end of the six month program.
Q: Will my credit scores improve?
A: Yes, most of our clients experience between 50 to 200 point increase, of course yours could vary.
Q: If I do not have a copy of my credit report, how do I obtain a copy?
A: We offer a tri-merge report which contains your credit information and scores from all three bureaus. The cost for this report and review is $35.00 per person. You can also request your free reports from each bureau once per year or if you have been recently turn down for credit.
Q: Will I receive a copy of my credit reports?
A: Not until you sign up with our program. We are not licensed to sell just credit reports. But once you have signed up we are allowed to give you a copy.
Q: Can I use my free credit report for your services instead of paying for one?
A: No, the reports that you receive on-line do not contain all the necessary information that we will need for your credit repair. Also, our reports will have all three bureaus on one report instead of three separate reports.
Q: What does it mean to be registered or licensed with the state of Texas?
A: It basically means that the company posted a $10,000.00 bond with the Secretary of State’s office for the consumer’s protection.
A: We prefer to meet with our clients in person. We do operate by appointment only and nights or week-end appointments are available. With clients all over the country, we can handle all business via U.S. mail, e-mail, phone and fax.
Q: What type of payments does Double G Credit Repair accept?
A: We accept the following types of payments, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, cash, check, money order and debit cards with a bank card logo.
Q: What if I only need help with one item? Do I have to pay the full price?
A: No, we do have an hourly rate of $100 per hour with an one hour minimum.
