Athletics at Church Farm School

“At Church Farm School, every scholar has an opportunity to compete on a team and experience brotherhood. Our athletics program is a tool used to teach life lessons and develop the whole scholar in and out of the classroom.”

- Suni K. Blackwell, Director of Athletics

Athletic Program and Philosophy

Athletics are an integral part of the experience at Church Farm School, an independent boarding and day school for boys in grades 9-12 located in Exton, Pa. Our young men fine-tune unique athletic talents and develop key leadership skills like hard work, consistency, determination and good sportsmanship.

The CFS athletic culture is built on promoting and encouraging the school’s core values of respect, responsibility, integrity and brotherhood among our coaches and athletes. Every athlete at Church Farm School, regardless of skill level, will find a team where they can pursue interests and develop confidence and skills that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

As a  Griffin, you’re part of a brotherhood for life!

Sports Offerings & Requirements

At CFS, students are required to participate in sports for a minimum of two seasons each year. The third season may be spent on a sports team as a manager, or with an after-school club. Club options may vary by year. Seniors who are unable to participate on two sports teams due to roster limits may apply for a waiver of the two-season rule with the Director of Athletics.

CFS competes in 11 interscholastic sports annually. We value excellence in each sport offered and aim to field successful teams that are competitive within the BAL, PIAA and other league schools.

Griffin Athletic Culture

From the basketball court to the track, CFS is a place where you can discover your passion, rise to the challenge and achieve lasting success. Here, the lessons you learn on and off the court will prepare you for college and for life.

Coaching at CFS

The CFS coaching staff, consisting primarily of academic and residential faculty, serves as teachers and mentors for our students. Coaches work closely with athletes to pursue excellence while developing leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork and an appreciation for lifelong fitness.

The role of a CFS coach is to provide our  young men with athletic and social experiences designed to foster personal growth and development by:

  • Interacting consistently and personally with athletes
  • Providing a competitive and learning environment that facilitates moral character development, self-discipline and potential
  • Promoting academic and athletic excellence
